Liu Bao tea is thirst-quenching, refreshing and effective in relieving body dampness, thus historically it was being consumed by the mining coolies over years, as they had to work in the tin mines under hot sun. It was even being described as “bao ming cha” (lifesaving tea) among the coolies. Liu Bao tea was also affordable, mass-produced, and it could endure multiple brewing with long-lasting tea fragrance. Due to its various advantages to health with a relative affordable price, most tin miners provided free Liu Bao tea to their workers as a regular beverage. Today the Kampar town still preserves the tradition of drinking Liu Bao tea, therefore we highly recommend this beverage to our fellow visitors.
